Departing from Agadir, the journey begins with a drive to Taroudant, often called “Little Marrakech” due to its ancient ramparts and vibrant souks. After exploring the town, the route continues through the Tizi n’Test Pass, offering breathtaking views of the High Atlas Mountains. The next stop is the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a famous filming location for movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After exploring this historic fortress, the journey proceeds to Ouarzazate, the gateway to the Sahara, where visitors can explore Atlas Film Studios and the Taourirt Kasbah. Overnight stay in Ouarzazate.
Leaving Ouarzazate, the journey heads south through the scenic Draa Valley, known for its vast palm groves and ancient kasbahs. Passing through Nkob, Alnif, and Rissani, travelers get a glimpse of traditional Berber villages and desert landscapes. Arriving in Merzouga, the adventure takes a magical turn with a camel trek into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. As the sun sets over the vast Sahara, guests settle into a traditional desert camp, where they enjoy a Berber-style dinner under the starry sky, accompanied by local music. Overnight in a luxury or standard desert camp.
An early wake-up call allows visitors to witness a stunning sunrise over the dunes before returning to Merzouga by camel. After breakfast, the tour continues to Erfoud, famous for its fossil workshops, where visitors can learn about ancient marine life preserved in stone. The road then leads to the towering cliffs of Todra Gorge, a paradise for rock climbers and nature lovers. After a short hike through the dramatic canyon, the journey continues along the Dades Valley, known for its breathtaking rock formations and ancient kasbahs. Stops include the Monkey Fingers rock formation and the snakelike road of Tissadrine, perfect for panoramic photos. Overnight in a charming hotel or kasbah in Dades Gorge.
After breakfast, the tour follows the Valley of Roses, famous for its fragrant rose fields and local distilleries producing rose water. Passing through Skoura, an oasis filled with thousands of palm trees, the group visits the Amridil Kasbah, one of Morocco’s most well-preserved kasbahs. The road then winds through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m), the highest major mountain pass in Morocco. Arriving in Marrakech in the afternoon, travelers check into their accommodation before having free time to explore the bustling Jemaa el-Fnaa square, where street performers, food stalls, and markets bring the city to life. Overnight in a traditional riad in Marrakech.
A full day is dedicated to discovering the rich history and culture of Marrakech. The guided tour includes visits to iconic landmarks such as the Koutoubia Mosque, the beautifully decorated Bahia Palace, and the fascinating Saadian Tombs. A stroll through the Ben Youssef Madrasa reveals stunning Islamic architecture. After lunch, the tour continues through the lively souks, where artisans sell spices, textiles, and handcrafted goods. Visitors can choose to experience a traditional hammam spa or take part in a Moroccan cooking class in the afternoon. The evening is free to enjoy a rooftop dinner overlooking Jemaa el-Fnaa. Overnight in Marrakech.
On the final day, the tour takes a relaxing drive back to Agadir. Depending on the schedule, an optional stop in the coastal town of Essaouira allows travelers to explore its charming medina, blue fishing boats, and fresh seafood markets. Another option is to visit Taghazout, a laid-back surf town known for its beachside cafes and stunning Atlantic views. Amazing 6-Day Morocco Tour from Agadir!
I had an unforgettable experience with Path to Morocco Agency on their 6-day tour from Agadir! The journey took us through Taroudant, the Atlas Mountains, Aït Benhaddou, Ouarzazate, Dades & Todra Gorges, and into the breathtaking Sahara Desert.
Riding camels at sunset and spending a night in a desert camp under the stars was truly magical! The itinerary was well-planned, accommodations were comfortable, and the food was delicious. Our driver, Mohssin, was fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and made the trip even more enjoyable.
Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to explore Morocco’s beauty and culture!
