From your accommodation
Your journey begins with an early departure from Agadir at 8:00 AM, heading towards the south of Morocco. Along the way, you will pass through Taliouine, known as the saffron capital, where you can take a short coffee break while enjoying the surroundings.
Continuing on, you will arrive at Taznakht, a village famous for its handmade Berber carpets. After lunch, the journey takes you to one of Morocco’s most iconic landmarks, the UNESCO-listed Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, an ancient fortress that has been the backdrop for numerous Hollywood films.
In the afternoon, you will depart for Ouarzazate, also known as the gateway to the Sahara. Here, you will have the opportunity to visit the Atlas Cinema Studios, where many international films have been produced. Finally, you will check into your hotel, where you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, you will leave Ouarzazate and head towards the Tizi-N-Tifntit Pass (1760m), offering breathtaking views of the Draa Valley. As you descend, you will follow the Draa River, passing through palm groves and ancient kasbahs before reaching Tamgroute.
In Tamgroute, you will visit the Koranic library, one of the oldest in Morocco, as well as the underground kasbah and traditional pottery workshops. The journey continues towards Mhamid, the last town before the vast desert.
After lunch in Mhamid, you will venture deep into the desert towards Erg Chegaga, crossing the rocky terrain of Hamada de Draa. Along the way, you will stop at the Sacred Oasis, a lush refuge in the middle of the arid landscape. By late afternoon, you will arrive at the stunning Erg Chegaga dunes, where you will spend the night in a traditional desert camp, enjoying dinner under the starry sky.
Wake up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes before enjoying breakfast at the camp. The journey continues along the legendary Paris-Dakar Rally route, crossing the dry expanse of Lake Iriqui, a vast, surreal landscape.
You will then pass through the Lmadwar Desert, often referred to as Moroccan Colorado, due to its unique rock formations and colorful scenery. By midday, you will arrive at Foum Zguid, a desert town where you can take a short break.
From there, the road leads to Tata, a charming Berber town, passing through the picturesque Aguinane Oasis, where you can admire the contrast between lush palm groves and the surrounding desert. Your day will conclude with dinner and an overnight stay at a riad or hotel in Tata.
After breakfast, you will begin your journey back to Agadir, traveling through the Anti-Atlas Mountains, where the landscapes transform into a mix of rugged cliffs, valleys, and small traditional villages.
You will stop at the Tiout Oasis, a serene and picturesque location where you can enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Here, you can take a short walk or even ride a donkey through the lush palm groves.
Continuing on, you will visit Taroudant, often called “Little Marrakech”, due to its ancient medina, bustling souks, and impressive city walls. After exploring Taroudant, the journey resumes, leading you back to Agadir, where you will arrive in the afternoon, marking the end of your unforgettable adventure.
