Program Itinerary of 4 Day Desert Tour From Fez To Marrakech

Day 1Fez to Merzouga – A Journey Through Middle Atlas Beauty

Your journey begins with an early morning departure from Fez, heading south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. The first stop is in Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its European-style architecture and clean streets. Next, visit the Azrou Cedar Forest, where you can see wild Barbary macaques and take in the fresh mountain air.

Continuing the drive, you’ll pass through Midelt, a town famous for its apple orchards, and then travel through the breathtaking Ziz Valley, a lush palm-filled oasis with stunning rock formations. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert.

Tonight, you’ll stay in a traditional hotel or riad in Merzouga, where you can relax, enjoy a delicious dinner, and prepare for the next day’s desert adventure.

Day 2Merzouga – Rissani – Erg Chebbi Camel Trek – Desert Camp

After breakfast at your hotel, explore Rissani, an ancient desert town and former caravan trading center. Visit its lively traditional souk, where locals trade spices, handicrafts, and livestock.

In the afternoon, return to Merzouga and switch to camels for an unforgettable trek across the towering Erg Chebbi dunes. As the sun sets, enjoy the magical scenery and take stunning photos before reaching your Desert Camp. Here, you’ll be welcomed with traditional mint tea, followed by a delicious Moroccan dinner under the stars. Spend the night in a private tent, enjoying Berber music and storytelling around the campfire.

Day 3Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Wake up early to witness a breathtaking desert sunrise, then enjoy breakfast at the camp before returning to Merzouga by camel or 4×4. From there, begin your journey toward the spectacular Todra Gorges, a natural wonder with 300-meter-high canyon walls. Take a walk along the Todra River, admire the dramatic rock formations, and soak in the peaceful atmosphere.

After lunch, continue to the scenic Dades Valley, driving along the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. You’ll pass traditional Berber villages, ancient fortresses, and dramatic landscapes before arriving at your hotel or riad in Dades Gorges. Enjoy a relaxing evening with dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the valley’s stunning rock formations.

Day 4Dades Valley – Rose Valley – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech

After breakfast, drive through the Rose Valley, famous for its rose fields and fragrant beauty products. Stop in Kalaat M’Gouna, where locals harvest roses for perfumes and cosmetics.
