Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Marrakech Airport

When you arrive in Marrakech, we’ll greet you and take you to your hotel or Riad. You can relax and get ready for your journey. You’ll spend the night in Marrakech.

Day 2Marrakech Guided Tour

Discover the wonders of Marrakech, known as the “Southern Pearl” of Morocco. This historic city has long been a key stop for traders and travelers. Your guided tour will take you to the beautiful Menara Gardens, the famous Jardin Majorelle, the stunning Bahia Palace, and the ancient Saadian tombs.

Be sure to see the impressive Koutoubia Mosque, with its 77-meter-high minaret. Then, head to Djemaa el-Fna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can relax at a cozy café and soak in the lively atmosphere. Stroll through Marrakech’s vibrant souks, filled with colors and energy. End your day with another peaceful night in Marrakech.

Day 3Marrakech to Essaouira [202 km]

Leaving Marrakech behind, we’ll head towards the picturesque coastal town of Essaouira. Enjoy a scenic drive lined with argan oil cooperatives en route to this UNESCO World Heritage-listed gem.

Essaouira, a windswept fishing port with expansive beaches and a historic walled medina, has long been a popular destination. Explore the charming medina, stroll along the fortified ramparts, relax on the beach, or visit the bustling port to witness the daily catch. If your visit coincides with June, you might even catch the Gnaouas Music Festival. Overnight stay in a local Riad in Essaouira.

Day 4Essaouira to Oualidia [205 km]

Today, we travel from Essaouira to Oualidia, stopping in Safi, a town known for its pottery and past Portuguese influence. Safi is also famous for exporting sardines.

Upon arrival in Oualidia, a beautiful coastal village between a peaceful lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean, you’ll have plenty of activities to enjoy. You can go for a walk, watch birds, fish, swim, kayak, or try kite surfing and surfing. Oualidia is especially popular with birdwatchers in Spring and Autumn. You will spend the night in Oualidia.

Day 5Oualidia to Rabat [288 km]

Leave Oualidia and head to Rabat, following the scenic Atlantic Coast. Along the way, stop in El Jadida, a UNESCO World Heritage site with a fascinating history, and Casablanca, where you’ll visit Mohammed V Square and the grand Hassan II Mosque.

In Rabat, explore the city’s main sights, including the Mechouar (the outer walls of the Royal Palace), the Mohammed V Mausoleum, the historic Hassan Tower, and the beautiful Oudaya Kasbah with its stunning ocean views. You’ll also have a chance to visit Moroccan artisan galleries. Spend the night in Rabat.

Day 6Rabat to Tangier [251 km]

We continue our journey from Rabat to Tangier, traveling along a stunning coastal road. On the way, visit Asilah, a charming seaside town famous for its whitewashed buildings, blue-painted walls, and colorful murals.

Arriving in Tangier, known as the gateway between Africa and Europe, you’ll discover its rich international history. Wander through the lively medina, explore the city’s surroundings, and take in the breathtaking views where the Mediterranean and Atlantic oceans meet. Enjoy an overnight stay in Tangier.

Day 7Tangier to Chefchaouen [112 km]

From Tangier, we’ll journey to the enchanting mountain village of Chefchaouen, passing through the picturesque valleys of the Rif Mountains. Chefchaouen is famed for its blue-hued houses and is a popular destination, especially in the summer months.

Explore Chefchaouen’s winding lanes and narrow alleys, home to vibrant souks offering unique cuisine and artisanal goods, including woolen items, intricate embroidery, and locally produced goat’s cheese. You can relax in the town square, visit a local farm, or explore nearby parks. Spend the night in Chefchaouen.

Day 8Chefchaouen to Fez via Volubilis and Meknes [202 km]

After breakfast at your Riad, set off on a scenic drive through the Rif Mountains to Volubilis, an open-air museum featuring ancient Roman ruins. While smaller than some Mediterranean Roman sites, Volubilis offers a peaceful insight into Morocco’s past.

Next, travel to Meknes, one of Morocco’s four imperial cities. Enjoy a lunch break and explore the historic medina walls. Visit the grand Bab el Mansour gate and the mausoleum of Moulay Ismail.

Afterward, continue to Fez, where you will spend the night.

Day 9Guided Tour of Fez

Today, dive into the wonders of Fez with a guided city tour. As the world’s oldest and largest medieval city, Fez offers a truly immersive experience within its bustling medina.

Explore its many landmarks, from mosques to palaces, and follow themed tourist routes to navigate the maze-like streets. While you can admire mosques and palaces from the outside, keep in mind that only Muslims are allowed inside the mosques.

Visit the lively dye-pits, traditional tanneries, and a variety of restaurants within the medina. After a full day of discovery, return to your hotel, where you can opt for a special Moroccan dining and entertainment experience at a local restaurant.

Day 10Fez to Merzouga via Ifrane, Azrou, Ziz Gorges, and Erfoud [460 km]

After breakfast, set off on a scenic journey through the Moyen Atlas Mountains, passing through lush cork oak and cedar forests, home to Barbary apes.

Enjoy breathtaking mountain views as you travel through peaceful passes, with stunning glimpses of the High Atlas peaks. Stop for lunch in Midelt, a town surrounded by desert plains and rugged landscapes.

Continuing through the Ziz Valley, head south to Erfoud and Rissani, an oasis filled with over six million palm trees and historic ksour (fortified villages). As the landscape shifts to desert, arrive at the edge of Merzouga’s golden sand dunes.

Unwind by the swimming pool at your beautiful Kasbah hotel, and in the evening, enjoy a live performance by a desert blues band.

Day 11Merzouga – Nomad Families and Erg Chebbi Exploration

Begin your day with a breathtaking desert sunrise before returning to the hotel on a camel ride. Freshen up with a shower and enjoy a tasty breakfast.

Next, set off on a 4WD off-road adventure to explore the towering dunes, the Merzouga oasis, and the village of Khamlia, where the Gnawa people will share their spiritual music. Continue your journey to meet desert nomads in their traditional tents, offering a glimpse into their unique way of life.

Visit the scenic Merzouga Lake, home to various bird species, before heading to Rissani, once called Sijilmassa, a major stop for salt caravans from Timbuktu. Wander through its lively souk, filled with spices, fresh produce, and textiles. After enjoying a local-style pizza for lunch, return to your Kasbah.

As the sun begins to set, walk into the golden dunes of the Sahara and take in the stunning desert views. End your day with dinner, traditional music, and an overnight stay in a nomad tent under the stars.

Day 12Merzouga to Todra Gorges and Dades Valley [255 km]

Say goodbye to the magical desert as you travel to Todra Gorge, a breathtaking canyon often called Morocco’s own Grand Canyon. Be amazed by the towering limestone cliffs, which rise over 1,000 feet, and take time to explore the gorge’s stunning depths and heights.

Todra’s beauty shifts with the sunlight, creating a mesmerizing display of colors throughout the day. After taking in the scenery, continue your journey to the beautiful Dades Valley, where you’ll spend the night.

Day 13Dades Valley to Marrakech via Ouarzazate and Ait Ben Haddou [326 km]

After breakfast, travel through charming villages where Berber women tend to fields with the stunning High Atlas Mountains in the background.

Your journey continues to Ouarzazate, with an off-road detour to visit Berber nomads in their cave homes and share a cup of tea with them. Pass through the Valley of the Roses, known for its annual Rose Festival in May, and admire the historic Amridil kasbah.

In Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Morocco,” visit the cinematographic museum (Atlas Studio )  before crossing the riverbed to explore Ait Benhaddou.

In the afternoon, head north across the High Atlas Mountains, taking in spectacular scenery as you cross the Tizi-n-Tichka pass (2,260m). Descend through Berber villages into the Marrakech plain. Arriving in Marrakech, a city rich in history dating back to the 11th century, you’ll be greeted by the sight of the iconic Koutoubia Minaret. Enjoy an overnight stay in Marrakech.

Day 14Leisure Day in Marrakech – Departure

On your final day, take advantage of your remaining time in Marrakech. Stroll through the lively souks, pick up souvenirs for your loved ones, or simply soak in the city’s vibrant atmosphere.

Later, we’ll arrange your transfer to Marrakech Menara Airport for your departure flight, bringing your unforgettable 14-day Morocco adventure to a close.
